The Ski & Bike Sales Associate is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while assisting customers with ski, snowboard, bike, and outdoor equipment sales. This position requires product knowledge, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping customers find the right equipment, accessories, and apparel for their needs.
The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment during busy seasonal periods.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Help customers select skis, snowboards, bikes, accessories, apparel, and related equipment
Provide product recommendations based on customer needs, skill level, and budget
Explain product features, sizing, fit, and performance differences
Build customer relationships and create a positive shopping experience
Support store sales goals through excellent customer service and product knowledge
Assist with ski, snowboard, and bike fittings
Help prepare equipment for pickup or service
Maintain organized and fully stocked sales floors and displays
Assist customers with rentals, accessories, and add-on purchases
Learn seasonal products, brands, and current inventory
Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system
Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise
Tag, organize, and restock products as needed
Help maintain store cleanliness and organization
Support inventory counts and merchandising projects
Work collaboratively with sales, rental, service, and management teams
Assist during busy weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers and coworkers
Qualifications
Retail sales or customer service experience required.
Interest in skiing, snowboarding, biking, or outdoor sports is required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Willingness to learn technical product information
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and move merchandise and equipment (up to 10–30 lbs)
Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and stocking

Schedule Expectations

Assistant Store Manager – Ski, Snowboard & Bike
The Assistant Store Manager supports daily retail operations while helping lead the sales team, customer experience, inventory management, and overall store performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and solid knowledge of ski, snowboard, and bike equipment, apparel, and accessories.
The Assistant Manager works closely with ownership and department staff to maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused environment while supporting sales growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily store operations and staff performance
Help train, motivate, and support sales associates and seasonal staff
Lead by example through excellent customer service and product knowledge

Ski Technician
The Ski Technician is responsible for mounting, tuning, repairing, and maintaining ski and snowboard equipment while providing excellent customer service and ensuring all work is completed accurately and safely. This position requires technical knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during busy seasonal periods.
The Ski Technician helps ensure customers have properly fitted, tuned, and safe equipment for the best possible on-snow experience.
Key Responsibilities
Mount ski bindings according to manufacturer specifications
Adjust and test bindings using proper DIN settings and testing procedures
Perform ski and snowboard tuning, waxing, edging, and base repairs
Inspect equipment for safety, damage, and wear
Assist with boot fittings and equipment setup
Maintain accurate service records and work orders
Assist customers with equipment recommendations and service needs
Explain tuning, repair, and maintenance options clearly
Answer customer questions regarding ski and snowboard equipment
Deliver a professional and positive customer experience
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Assist with receiving and organizing merchandise and equipment
Help manage service turnaround times during peak periods
Support rental and sales departments as needed
Follow all manufacturer and shop safety procedures
Stay current on ski and snowboard equipment, technology, and service procedures
Properly use tuning machines, hand tools, and shop equipment
Ensure all work meets company and industry standards
